Turkey as hallway between the East and the West is facing many challenges. A small change in this region can influence the world. Turkey was transformed after all internal and external disputes by Ataturk in the early twentieth century. Royal and religious oriented system of government became a secular state in which there is no belonging to a religious order or congregation to align with the east. After all such a country appeared that it was both secular and religious in the world. But this is not the end of this country, subcutaneous events and movements with emerging religious tended political groups and success of Welfare and Development and Justice Party opened a new chapter in the history of country that is full of challenges and conflicts between religious and non-religious leaders and parties. Now there is an attempt to replace values and norms in the society which is used to be a secular state. Secular is pale, rather religion and spirituality is becoming dominant. To grab the chance in employment there are incredible women with head-cover (turban) that is a symbol of being a Muslim and Even religious acts in foreign affairs. These all have separated Turkey from its western confreres, leading Turkey toward radical Islamic states like Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, what seems interesting is that Turkey tends to join the EU. Here, my photo-story is trying to show these conflicts between two parties Secularism and Islamism.
