Wedding parties were being held with lots of traditional ceremonies in rural areas of Azerbaijan and in far villages. However in recent years, there are no such beautiful traditional ceremonies. Everything has got an urban color. The melody of leather drum and traditional flute has been replaced by electrical instruments and chemical fake snows. The colorful flowers of dresses has gone. The groom lives in the city and will take the bride to city, where she may forget her good village memories. The yard of house is full of voices and there are some tearful eyes because ıt’s farewell tıme. The bride goes and they pour water behind her. Wedding ceremony continues in city and it’s only the sound of Gopuz* that whispers stories from ranches, mountains, horses, Negar* and Koroğlu*.
Garadag is alone tonight.
*Gopuz is a traditional instrument of Azerbaijan.
*Negar and *koroglu are characters of an ancient Turkish novel.
